What Would Stoner Actually Do?

I found the below video very enlightening. It’s interesting to hear the designer of the most influential gun in the past 70 years talk about how and why he made what he did, and about how other people came along and changed it. Food for thought.

I’ll see if I can find a link to the videos that were spliced in. If I do, I’ll post them here on PGM.

I’ll see you next Friday.

  1. The “Eugene Stoner Tapes” are on Utube. The Karl & Ian version seems good for an all-purpose carbine, although personally the adjustable carbine stock is more useful than the fixed stock. Depends on your head position, but with LPVO forward having the stock in 1 notch is comfortable, then fully extend for prone and eye relief remains the same. With fixed stock either prone eye relief too close for LPVO or other positions too far away. Karl & Ian’s vision seems setup for red dots only, so fixed stock is fine.
