Is This Post Worth a Dollar?

Probably not. Not this one, anyway. This post is to inform, you, Dear Reader, that we at PGM now officially have a Patreon.

So What, Now I Gotta Pay?

Don’t worry, the blog will remain free. This is not a notice of incoming paywall or anything like that. We are simply opening up the ability for our readers to support what we do here financially. I don’t even have any sort of plans for Patreon-exclusive content yet, although we may throw some behind-the-scenes stuff up if/when we have bigger projects we are working on.

How Much is It?

One dollar per post, maximum 4 charges/month. I don’t want someone to feel cheated if they pay for a month where we only put out one post, and I want us to feel motivated to produce more work. I feel that a per-post model is optimal at this time.

I chose to make each post a dollar, because I don’t want to be cost prohibitive. Some of our work I’d feel justified in saying is worth more than a $1, but I’d be lying if I said we always pump out gold on a weekly basis.

What Would I Get for Supporting?

Glad you asked. This financial support would go directly into supporting the blog, from moving to a custom domain (no more “.wordpress”, hopefully), logos, little site upgrades, but more importantly: financial backing for bigger projects. We writers really enjoy getting out and doing bigger, more involved projects but we don’t always have the funds to do so. This is where we’re hoping the Patreon would be the most helpful. But as I said above, this will be purely voluntary for the foreseeable future.

Starting with this post, I will be charging Patreons a dollar per week when we post. I will also be making a note on each post from here on out letting readers know how they can help support the site.

Before I end, I do want to say ‘thank you’. To the readers who’ve been with us for years, to the ones who just joined us recently, to the ones who just showed up: Thank you. It’s one thing to just hammer away at a keyboard, shouting into the void. It’s another thing entirely knowing that some people actually enjoy what you have to share. Thank you for reading.
