I was perusing Revolverguy.com a while back and came across a 2-part series about The Great Revolver Frame War. Now I found this particularly interesting because it happened before I was born (Pro-Gun Millennial, after all). Back when wheel guns were king and semi-autos were for gamers, there was quite the dust-up between the King of the Mountain Smith & Wesson and the fiesty newcomer Ruger.
The long-story-short is that both companies are still around making six-shooters, but the rivalry that existed between them back in the 80’s that lead to some of the wheelgun world’s best modern designs is fascinating! So, without further ado, here are the links to the articles. If you like knowing how we got where we are, and appreciate clever marketing, you’ll enjoy reading them. -S_S

This frame war was before my time, and I’m still not much of a wheel gun guy… but LOL @ the Ruger Burger!
