As promised, BCCo is back with more flavors. These are more late-summer/early-fall seasonal, with the exception of the White Russian coffee. As last time, thise coffee was purchased at 100% retail price. I’m sure I got some sort of 10% off code for being a prior customer, but I didn’t think about it until I’d already placed my order.
Methods:
Due to the last round of flavor’s results, I elected to only evaluate the flavors with cold brewed coffee. I also changed my prep method for cold brewing. Instead of a 24-hour steep time, I upped it to 36 hours. The cold brew wasn’t tasting like a commercially available mermaid-branded cold brew, and I needed that unique sharp flavor. Thankfully my first attempt to modify my method worked like I wanted it to, and the 36-hour steep time has become my standard. The reason for this time increase is because of the fineness of grind. The 24-hour suggestion was what I found by searching online, but it resulted in coffee tat just tastes like cold coffee, but less bitter. It was good, but not what I was aiming for. What I realized is that everything I was reading was assuming medium-ground beans normally used in drip (standard) coffee makers. I use a french press exclusively and grind my beans course. Course beans means less surface area and a longer steeping time. The flavors aren’t more pronounced now, but the coffee’s flavor is that unique, sharp cold brew flavor. I now realize that I could adjust the grind setting on my grinder. Hmm….
Enough digressing, let’s get into it.
White Russian:
As you can tell, this one is based on The Dude’s omnipresent drink of choice, a White Russian. A rather fitting flavor for a coffee, since a White Russian is made with Kahlúa (a coffee and chocolate liqueur). The taste is predominately a dark, chocolaty flavor, reminiscent of the Kahlúa. It’s pretty decent.
S’Morey Time:

Considering this is the flavor that actually caught my interest, it would be a travesty to not try this flavor as soon as possible. The flavor has a strong marshmallow flavor, as well as maybe Graham cracker and chocolate. This is one of the better flavors I’ve tried so far.
Paradise Pie:

This coffee is supposedly a key lime pie flavor, as indicated by the pants-less skeleton eating pie in a hammock on a beach. If you know of anything that sounds more relaxed than that, don’t keep it to yourself. As for the coffee itself, it was alright. The flavor of the key lime comes through very well, as well as a strong Graham cracker flavor. The taste is a little on the artificial side, but it’s not bad at all. If you like key lime pie, this is your jam.
Coconut Rum:

This coffee is exactly what it looks like, flavored like coconut rum. This one is very strongly flavored. Also like the Paradise Pie, Coconut Rum has a slightly artificial flavor. This is more forgivable though, since every coconut rum I’ve ever drank was very artificially flavored as well. If you like coconut rum and other coconut flavors, and you’re not sensitive to artificial flavors, this is where you want to be.
Jacked O’ Lantern:

This was the flavor that I was the most excited about. I’ve been accused of being “basic” on more than one occasion, and that usually stems from my unreasonable fondness for everything pumpkin spice. This coffee is no different. This may be my favorite flavor so far. It doesn’t taste like it’s got pumpkin in it, but does have pumpkin spices, like nutmeg and all-spice. Also, the cover art is awesome.

Wrapping Up
I think I’m done with Bones Coffee for now. Not that there aren’t really good flavors of coffee, but I need to make sure I try other stuff. If I keep getting sample packs from them I’m going to go broke (If you’d like to send me some product to test & evaluate, hmu). I’ll probably get some Black Rifle Coffee next time, as I’m a fan of their owner and overall attitude as a brand. See you next Friday.
